When it comes to car insurance, there are a parcel of factors that decide your premium. On an average, men pay more than women and more seasoned drivers pay less than the newer ones. In most cases, individuals with a rich accident, ticket or claim histories pay more than individuals with clean records. Also, individuals with long day by day commutes and broad annually mileage, pay more than drivers who tend to remain nearby. Choice of vehicle is another factor in determining the premium.
Some of the factors are uncontrollable, such as your age, or your gender. However, there are few factors that you can control- specifically your claim and accident history (by being a responsible driver, and not filing claims for minor damages to your vehicle). Another factor that you can (sort of) control, but might not, for obvious reasons- your location within the city.
“Where you live may come with a higher premium because premium varies with location,” says Raymond, a registered insurance broker with Armour Insurance. “If the area is heavily populated, or has a high rate of claims/accidents (issues that come with high population), there is a possibility that you may have to pay more.” Clearly, the more populated regions are typically more costly.
A year ago, insauga.com, decided to take a look at Mississauga’s 22 neighbourhoods and find car insurance from an auto insurance comparison website like armour-insurance.com that allows you to search for car insurance by plugging in your postal code. The rates haven’t changed much since then.
The list compiles the lowest rates available for the average 30-year-old driver with a 2012 compact car, 12 years driving experience, yearly mileage of 15,000 km and a clean record based on the city’s neighbourhoods.
