This scholarship fund is created by Sukhdeep Kang, Director of Youth and Women Empowerment Centre and  CEO of Armour Insurance Brokers Ltd. to support extraordinary students with a flair to succeed in medicine, engineering or law. With a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and having been a Peel Regional Police office, Sukhdeep is fully aware of the challenges which brilliant students face due to lack of funds to pursue their professional dreams. In line with her philosophy of life” Keep spreading thy light”, she wants to support such brilliant professionals to build their careers.

Sukhdeep is known in the community for her support to youth and women in particular, helping people build their careers and volunteer work related to cancer, hospice and senior citizens. In establishing this scholarship, Sukhdeep wishes to support the enthusiastic and hardworking youth of Ontario to build their professional careers.

Eligibility

Applicants to the scholarship must:

• 1. Be a resident of Ontario
• 2. Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher in University final year and have been accepted by law or medical colleges OR be a first year student of law or medical or engineering colleges.
• 3. No private or online courses are eligible for this scholarship.

How to Apply

Create an application bundle that consists of:

• • 1. General information such as address and high school, as well as information about extracurricular activities or awards.
  • 2. High school transcripts and personal references.

• • 3. Two letters of recommendation from a teacher, counsellor, coach or supervisor.

• 4. Leadership ability in student and/or community service
• 5. An outline of school, community and/or extra-curricular involvement
• 6. Show examples of leadership experiences that have taught you about commitment and dedication
